Fit perfect on the gear box

I bought a set of the wheels so that I could move the 36″ wide version of the Gear Box cabinet more easily around my garage. The picture with the ad does not reflect how these wheels go on. There is no spacer blocks provided of any kind, so the only way to get the wheel on to the bottom of the cabinets are to cut off the brass sleeves for the standard height adjusters and then drill through the bottom shelf. The caster holes do not line up with the locations on the bottom plate (there’s a added piece of metal in each corner with four holes in it so that you’d only have to drill through one sheet of metal… except the holes don’t line up). The front (non-turning wheels) fit OK, but the rear wheels swivel so you have to work around clearance issues with the frame of the bottom shelf. There are no indications on the caster instructions about needing to add spacer blocks. Overall, these are a pain in the backside as is. I probably should have pulled them off and made my own frame, but I was too frustrated to start over again.

I have several Gladiator cabinets in my garage. I ordered the rolling cabinets and one was taller than the other. I ordered new wheels so they would both be the same size.

These casters add mobility to work space and that’s an added plus! I can keep on the move and have a cabinet with storage right there with every step. I also read someone had a problem with mounting them. I can see where that came from. Here’s my take on it. The front casters the ones with locking to prevent from rolling can only be mounted in the front. The holes line up perfectly and if you reverse them putting the front one in the back than they most likely will not line up. The other thing i did notice is if you garage floor is not some type of rubber than the caster will slide easily. Also I wanted to be sure what I read about the problem experienced was the truth before buying 2 sets. Now that I know it isn’t I just purchase another set. Other than that this is another great Gladiator product. I just wished I would have bought two set.

Purchased these for my GAGB28KDYG cabinet, which the website states they are for. The rear, swivel casters aligned to the pre-tapped holes in the cabinet, but the front, fixed casters did not. Front casters had a larger hole spacing. I also noticed that the pre-tapped holes in the cabinet is not a rectangular pattern, first I noticed about this. I was able to get two of the four bolts to fit on each of the front casters, but really all the bolts should be at least a 1/2″ longer for a proper fit. The toughest thing about these casters was the box they came in, had to rip it to pieces to get the casters out.

The holes didn’t lined up with the holes on the bottom of the cabinets. It took me another trip to the store to buy more hardware and redrill almost every hole again.. i wouldnoy recommend not worth your money.. I really want my money back.

I purchased two sets of casters to use on the ready to assemble large gearboxes. The use of casters on this gearbox doesn’t appear to be an option. There were no holes in the bottom of the cabinet, so I had to use the feet that came with that gearbox. I was very disappointed because I really wanted the cabinets to be mobile. Guess I should’ve bought the gearbox that came with the casters. However, it was shorter and they didn’t have an option for all black, which is what I wanted. The casters seemed to be very well made but wouldn’t work for the cabinets I purchased.

These casters are heavy duty. But they came with the incorrect/incomplete hardware. There were 1/4-20 bolts, but, not only were the holes in the associated cabinet not drillled, and hence not tapped, they were too short to be really effective. Also, as I had to drill holes in the cabinet to attach the casters (not a big deal), but the holes in the internal plate attached to the cabinet (which were predrilled), didn’t align with the holes in the caster attach plate. And, as mentioned, nuts and washers were required since the holes weren’t drilled/tapped, but none were included in the hardware package.
I would rather have paid less for these casters knowing that they required additional hardware and significant work with a drill to attach.

It looks like you get 4 swivel casters.. You actually get 2 swivel and 2 fixed casters.. Also the holes don’t align with the threaded fittings on the Gladiator storage case.

Casters are a superb addition to the Gladiator line; turns your small storage cabinet into a portable work area. Note: there are explicit labels and instructions for the casters; those labeled for installation on the front must be installed on the front and those labeled for installation on the rear must be installed on the rear. Some folks have reported trouble during installation but that is truly a mystery. It is a proprietary design and you cannot use casters manufactured by someone else; they will not fit.

Typical marketing BS. The premier cabinet that I bought came with casters. The 3 drawer RTA That I bought did not come with casters, so I bought a set hoping to match the set under my workbench. Completely different and cheaper casters and the cabinets are still 2 inches different in height. Just ridiculous… it just doesn’t need to be this complicated. Just a big waste of my time. I’ll have to add hockey pucks to the RTA cabinet legs to match the height of the premier cabinet..SOB

According to the instruction guide that came with these casters, I should have received 1/4 inch-20 hex head bolts. No bolts. I could have saved a lot of money purchasing another brand.

I don’t like that the bolt patterns are different on the front and back of the Gladiator cabinet, so you cannot choose where to install the fixed and spinning wheels. I installed two sets of these casters, and sheared one bolt head off. Here’s to hoping that 3 are enough to hold it in place!

Okay, so I purchased caster kit for my gladiator cabinets. Bottom of cabinets are inset, and there is no mounting block for casters in the kit! Also bolts are way to short and not washers or nuts came with them either. Why I ask why didn’t you include theses parts! So so upset.

Do not buy any Gladiator products Whirlpool will not stand behind their products. I purchased two tall cabinets and two shorts cabinets, no issues till I tried to installl the casters. The two tall cabinets did not have the installation brackets for the casters. I called they said return them, that was not acceptable to me, it took me 9hrs to assemble the 4 cabinets. I called Gladiator, they told me that the cabinets missing the install brackets is not possible. I retuned all 4 cabinets and the casters, will never shop at again

These heavy-duty wheels are really nice! They fasten securely and easily with the supplied hardware. The brakes hold really well and are easy to apply or disengage with just your foot.

Now assembled it is cheaply constructed. It wasa waste of money. The wheels all don t swivel. Just two do. It is cheap gradeof metal and i will never buy a Glaiditor product again

After looking at some of the reviews with pictures, I noticed a lot of pwople camt read the instructions correctly and assembled the bottom of their cabinets upside down, that is why the castors wont fit properly.

The casters seem to be ok quality but the two of the casters are fixed position (normally no big deal) but you can only place them in certain spots on the cabinet. So you can only move the cabinet back and forth width wise, which I needed it to move the other way in order to stow it properly in a narrow trailer. Normally you can go out and get the caster that you need, except the cabinets have non-standard bolt placements, so you cant purchase your own aftermarket casters with universal bolt placements and use the existing mounts on the cabinet.
Shame on the manufacturer for making the caster mounts a proprietary way to prevent customers from putting other standard hardware on the cabinet.

I did not use these for their intended purpose, but they work very well and casters on a large supply cabinet. Easy to push, easy to install IF you remember the hole pattern is different for the swivel vs fixed casters.
